Hyphens bind words together to create new meanings. These word-groupings can summarize large blocks of abstract thought. By labeling our insights they unlock our potential to think clearly. A good example is “Blood-pressure”. This insight-label has helped us prevent problems for generations.

Hyphens are awesome. All we have to do is notice this and hyphen-appreciation will inevitably lead to more insight-labels. This then leads to better communication and implementation of ideas, hopefully unraveling the joy-kills to volunteering and finding fulfillment.

  • Instructorless-discipline-development: It’s worth mentioning that self-teaching doesn’t come naturally and is a very specific skill to be developed.

  • Self-perpetuating-overqualification: We solve too many problems by encouraging the kind of education that only helps the individual while making it harder for everyone else to qualify for job positions. There must be a more nuanced solution for this.

  • Benevolent-purpose-distraction: I warn people strongly that good intentions can still lead to ideas that seem good, but are unnoticeably clouding the vision of purpose 1 has for one’s life. For instance pursuing higher education looks great on paper because the person can accomplish more good things in their lifetime with a degree, but we forget that this creates the attitude that purpose requires education and others are empty until they can start the job they train for.
